How To Fix FeedWordPress For WordPress 2.7

FeedWordPress is a fantastic plugin, and is a major part of the multiblogging system I will be writing about soon on Blerz. I use it on most of my WordPress sites, and its a part of my default WordPress setup package (also soon to be posted to Blerz).

Update: This has been fixed in the latest version of FeedWordPress. Go download the latest version here

FeedWordPress is an Atom/RSS aggregator for the WordPress weblog software. It syndicates content from feeds that you choose into your WordPress webblog

So you can imagine how annoyed I was when, after upgrading to WordPress 2.7, I discovered that Feedwordpress no longer worked properly. I got a ‘Fatal error: Class ‘Snoopy’ not found in…’ message after activating the plugin. Here’s how to fix Feedwordpress to work with WordPress 2.7:

What Makes A Web Micropreneur

Micropreneurs have been around for a few years – Google Micropreneur and you’ll get this:
Results 1 – 10 of about 6,380 for micropreneur
Not that many results, really. Here’s a great definition of what I would consider a successful web miropreneur, from Software by Rob:

I use the term Serial Micropreneur to describe an entrepreneur who creates the lifestyle of their choice through a portfolio of one-person technology businesses…a handful of one-man technology businesses, and have automated to the point that they require minimal monthly maintenance.

There it is. A diverse selection of one-person web properties. That is what Blerz can help you to create. This site isn’t a silly marketing brochure site telling you that you can ‘make $1500-3000 working from home in your spare time!’ or ‘retire in 2 years to Jamaica!’. Blerz can, however, help you to create a bundle of small, maintainable revenue streams relatively easily, while at the same time increasing your knowledge of web development and increasing your overall long-term net worth. Not to mention – web dev is fun! Trust me, if you don’t love making web applications/web programming/web design, then being a web micropreneur is not for you. You will fail, and you will be tired, bitter and poorer by the time you decide to throw in the towel. Drive and love of the game are going to be the biggest non-technical factors influencing your success (or lack thereof), and you can’t have one without the other. Also, I would suggest coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.
